Romina Weiss is a partner in the firm’s New York office and a member of the Tax Practice Group. Ms. Weiss has significant experience in a broad range of corporate and partnership tax matters. Ms. Weiss has extensive experience advising U.S. and international companies on tax issues arising from complex business transactions. She has been involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions transactions involving both public and private companies, including purchases and sales of portfolio companies by private equity funds. She also spends a significant portion of her time on the organization of private equity funds, including buyout funds, secondary funds and real estate funds, and advising them on their continuing operations, including portfolio investments. Her practice also includes advising clients on the tax aspects of capital-raising activities, such as IPOs, equity derivatives and debt offerings. Ms. Weiss was recently ranked as a leading lawyer in the 2009/2010 online Cambridge Who's Who Registry among Executive and Professional Women. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Weiss practiced with Troutman Sanders LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. She clerked for Judge Mary Ann Cohen of the United States Tax Court. Ms. Weiss graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1991. |
