E. Michael Greaney is a partner in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and Co-Chair of the firm's Private Equity Practice Group.  Mr. Greaney's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities and general business law matters for and private equity sponsors and strategic corporate clients.  He is a member of the Firm-wide Executive Committee and has served as Co-Partner-In-Charge of the firm's New York office.  Mr. Greaney is consistently featured in various publications as a leading lawyer in the areas of private equity and M&A, including The Legal 500 US edition, the International Financial Law Review, The Expert Guide to the Worlds Leading Private Equity Lawyers, and The Best Lawyers in America®.

Mr. Greaney has served as the lead M&A lawyer on dozens of complex corporate acquisition transactions on both the buy and sell side, including leveraged acquisitions, joint ventures, going private transactions, spin-offs and carveout divestitures.  He has worked with clients such as Investcorp, CCC Information Systems, Blackstone, Callaway Golf, Saks and Jostens, as well as a number of investment banks including Goldman Sachs.  Mr. Greaney also has extensive experience advising corporate clients on securities compliance, corporate governance, management incentive arrangements and other general business law matters.

Mr. Greaney earned his Juris Doctor in 1977 at the University of Southern California School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974 at Loyola University.

He is admitted to the New York and California bar and is a member of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee and the Negotiated Acquisitions Committee of the American Bar Association.
